Bio
My path to becoming a special education professional was a bit non-traditional—it started on a farm in Western Massachusetts, not in a school. That’s where I first discovered my passion for a service-oriented career, which led me to become a special education teacher. As I spent a decade in the classroom, teaching in both Spanish immersion and public charter schools, I found myself gravitating toward supporting other educators in their practice. Feeling pulled to effect change on a broader level, I moved into the professional learning field in 2019, using my expertise to help schools navigate their most complex challenges and find the right tools to overcome them.
At GB Education Partners, my work is driven by a belief that relationships are at the heart of meaningful progress. The great educator Rita Pierson said, "kids don't learn from people they don't like," and I believe the same is true for adults. I build collaborative partnerships based on mutual respect and trust, which allows me to provide hands-on support that is more effective and sustainable. Authentic, community-driven change happens when we work in partnership with schools and families, not just for them. I provide coaching and professional learning to help you implement evidence-based practices and achieve powerful results, such as improved academic outcomes, better attendance, and increased prosocial behaviors.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me running, gardening, or spending time with my family and dogs in the woods or at the beach.
